NBA: franchises allowed to display a sponsor on shooting shirts and warm-up jackets from 2022

"The National Basketball Association's (NBA) board of governors has approved an additional sponsorship patch for team uniform sets for the 2021-22 season, with the upcoming shooting shirt patch program allowing teams to include sponsor patches on both team shooting shirts and warm-up jackets," according to ESPN on 23/12/2021.

The new patch will be 3-inch by 3-inch and located either on the right sleeve, which is currently blank, or on the left chest area, adjacent to the franchises' logo. "Teams can add an existing jersey patch program partner's logo to their shooting shirts or look to begin negotiations with a new marketing partner for their warm-ups," said ESPN. All new agreements will require approval by the League, with the first sponsors expected to appear in early 2022.
