West Ham United FC: a turnover of £192.7m (+38.1%) and net loss of £26.9m in 2020-21

West Ham United FC (Premier League) have posted a turnover (excluding player transfers) of £192.7m (€224.1 as of 31/05/2021) for the financial year 2020-21 (01/06/2020 to 31/05/2021), up £53.2m (+38.1%) versus 2020 (£139.5m/€154.9m on 31/05/2020), announced the club on 30/12/2021.

The increase in turnover was primarily "driven by broadcast income up £80.6m (€93.7m) due to the deferred 2019-20 Project Restart income, improved merit place income from the sixth-place finish in the 2020-21 Premier League campaign, and increased live match income," explained the London club.

The club posted a pre-tax net loss of £26.9m (€30.24m), down £38.4m (€44.7m, -58.8%) versus a loss of £65.3m (€72.5m) in 2019-20. "This loss was driven by lower match and commercial income due to almost all the games in the 2020-21 season being played without fans in attendance for the whole season as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, offset by the recognition of income deferred from 2019-20, due to Project Restart," explained West Ham United FC.
