LaLiga Santander: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (January 2022)

The 20 clubs in the 2021-22 LaLiga Santander season have 568 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 01/01/2022. This total makes the Spanish first division the second most popular European Top 5 league on the three social networks combined, behind the Premier League (617 million fans), with an average of 28.4 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular Spanish club with nearly 259 million fans, while FC Barcelona, second, with more than 246 million, are ahead of the 2020-21 Spanish champions, Club Atlético de Madrid, in third place with 32.2 million.

Real Madrid posted the best growth in absolute value during the month of December 2021 with an additional 1.713 million followers in total, 79% of which were on Instagram alone. Only Manchester United FC (+1.717 million) performed better among the clubs playing in the European Top 5 over the same period.
