United Kingdom: BT Sport acquires rights to broadcast the 2021-22 Supercopa de España

BT Sport has acquired the exclusive UK broadcasting rights to the 2021-22 Supercopa de España (to be played in Saudi Arabia from 12-16/01/2022), announced the UK pay-TV operator on 04/01/2022.

BT Sport will broadcast the semi-finals, Real Madrid CF - FC Barcelona and Club Atlético de Madrid - Athletic Club Bilbao, on 12 and 13/01/2022 respectively as well as the final on 16/01/2022. A four-team format has been implemented by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) since the 2019-20 season as part of an agreement with Saudi Arabia, which is hosting three editions of the competition (2019-20 to 2021-22) for an estimated €30m per year according to Spanish press.

The rights to broadcast LaLiga Santander (2019-2022) and the Copa del Rey (2020-2022) in the United Kingdom are held by the British pay-TV group Premier Sports.
