Bundesliga: Software company SAP becomes partner of Bayern Munich through 2016-17

SAP, German manufacturer of computer software, has becomes the second-level partner of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) through 2016-17, the club announced on 19/08/2014.

SAP will provide services for statistical data processing to Bayern Munich's technical staff. The SAP Match Insight software is used to analyse the performances of players (passes, shots, distance covered, speed). The DFB (German football federation), partner of SAP since 15/03/2013, used the software during the 2014 World Cup won by Germany.

The company also obtains advertising visibility, hospitality packages and will appear on the club's communications.

Dietmar Hopp, founder of SAP, is also the owner of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Bundesliga). The company is the club's shirt sponsor through 2015-16. It pays an estimated €4.5m per year.
