Matchday 21 of the 2021-22 Premier League season drew an average of 38,597 spectators per game, from Saturday 01 to Monday 03/01/2022. The average fill rate was 97.5%.

These figures do not take into account Southampton FC - Newcastle United FC or Leicester City FC - Norwich City FC, two games postponed due to the fact that too many players in at least one of the two participating squads had tested positive for Covid-19.

Manchester United FC - Wolverhampton Wanderers FC (0-1), on Monday 03/01/2022 (kick-off at 18:30 local time, 19:30 CET), was the match that posted the best attendance with 73,045 spectators at Old Trafford (74,879 capacity), for a fill rate of 97.6%.

The average attendance of the Premier League is 39,418 spectators per game after 21 matchdays (excluding 19 postponed matches), for an average fill rate of 95.5%.

  • The 20 Premier League clubs posted an average of 39,350 spectators per match in 2019-20 (over 29 matchdays) for a fill rate of nearly 98%.
