Premier League: Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts of the 20 clubs (January 2022)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2021-22 Premier League season have more than 617 million fans on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/01/2022. This total enables the Premier League to maintain its position as the most popular European Top 5 league, all three social networks combined, ahead of LaLiga Santander, with an average of over 30.8 million fans per club.

Manchester United FC are the most popular English club with more than 157 million fans, followed by Chelsea FC, with nearly 100 million, and Liverpool FC, with more than 91 million.

The Mancunian club posted the best increase in absolute value during the month of December 2021 with 1.7 million additional followers, including 68% on Instagram alone (+1.1 million). No other club in the European Top 5 performed better over the period.

Promoted side Brentford FC posted the best percentage growth among the Premier League clubs on Instagram (+3.1%), while Manchester City FC posted the best growth on Twitter (+1.9%) and Wolverhampton Wanderers FC on Facebook (+1.3%).
