Tennis Channel, an American pay-TV channel, has acquired the broadcasting rights for women's tennis competitions in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands from the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) from 2022 onwards, announced the subsidiary of Sinclair Broadcast Group on 03/01/2022. The WTA's 2022 season began on the same date with the WTA 500 tournament in Adelaide (AUS). This agreement will be valid for two seasons, 2022 and 2023.

"We are adding new countries to the growing group of countries outside of the US. Since (Tennis Channel) was founded almost two decades ago, we have always prepared for global expansion. We worked with the WTA and tennis decision-makers to test the thesis that the sport competes better when a series of media platforms of the same name allow fans to experience it as it is played around the planet every day of the year will. We have continued to develop tennis in the highly competitive American market and are now looking forward to transferring this model to other countries," said Ken Solomon, president of the Tennis Channel.
