LaLiga: Televisa signs agreement with Sky Mexico to broadcast free-to-air matches in Mexico

The Mexican telecommunications and media group Televisa has entered into a sub-licensing agreement for its free-to-air channel Canal 5, with the pay-TV operator Sky Mexico, to broadcast free-to-air LaLiga Santander matches for the second half of the 2021-22 season, on 05/01/2022.

The agreement covers one game per matchday with an option to extend the coverage to two games per matchday, according to Mexican media reports. The first match that will be covered by the agreement is RCD Espanyol - Elche CF (Matchday 20th), scheduled on Monday 10/01/2022 at 21:00 CET.

The Televisa group had previously broadcast LaLiga matches free-to-air in Mexico in the 1980s and 1990s.
