Germany: Donata Hopfen and Hans-Joachim Watzke appointed as vice-presidents of the DFB

Donata Hopfen has been unanimously confirmed as vice-president of the German Football Association (DFB) at the executive committee meeting on 07/01/2022. "Hopfen succeeded Christian Seifert as chairperson of the management board of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH and spokesperson of the executive committee of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga e.V. on 01/01/2022 and, following her confirmation, is now also a member of the DFB executive committee," explained the body on 07/01/2022.

Hans-Joachim Watzke has been appointed as first vice-president of the DFB as of 11/02/2022. He succeeds Peter Peters, who, due to his candidacy for the presidency of the DFB, must step down as chairman of the DFL supervisory board and first deputy spokesman of the German professional league on 11/02/2022, one month before the DFB's elective assembly. Peter Peters must also therefore relinquish his position as vice-president of the DFB.
