Manchester City FC: a turnover of £569.8m (+19.1%) and net profit of £2.4m in 2020-21

Manchester City FC (Premier League) have posted a turnover (excluding capital gains on player transfers) of £569.8m (€662.9m as of 30/06/2021) for the 2020-21 financial year (01/07/2020 to 30/06/2021), up 19.1% versus the 2019-20 financial year (£478.4m/€545.6m on 30/06/2020), announced the club owned by City Football Group, in its financial report (document available to download), published on 12/01/2022.

Apart from matchday revenues, which were virtually non-existent during the last financial year due to the health crisis (compared to £41.7m/€45.7m in 2019-20), the Manchester (ENG) club's other revenue sources have been growing (see details below), starting with broadcasting rights, which were up 56.3% (to £297.5m/€346m).

This increase can be explained by two factors: the postponement of part of the payments for the 2019-20 season until the 2020-21 financial year due to the resumption of competitions (Premier League and Champions League) suspended in March due to the Coronavirus, in summer 2020, and the improvement in Manchester City's sporting performance (English champions and…
