"LaLiga clubs are worth 30% more since the arrival of CVC thanks to the credibility offered by the fund," said Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish League, during a debate in Madrid (ESP) on "Financing in the World of Sport" at the EFE Sport Business Days on 13/01/2022.

LaLiga announced on 12/12/2021 that it had signed an agreement with the investment fund, through which "the league and (LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank) clubs receive a total of €1.994bn which will be used for technology, innovation, internationalisation, and sporting growth initiatives."

In exchange for its investment, CVC obtained an 8.2% stake in the new company in charge of managing the commercial and technological rights of the Spanish professional leagues, and will receive around 10% of the audiovisual revenues generated (minus the amounts paid to the clubs that are not signatories of the agreement) over a 50-year period.
