Ligue 1 Uber Eats: FC Girondins de Bordeaux presents its "trajectory for a return to stability"

"Six months after its takeover (by the holding company Jogo Bonito, owned by the Spanish-Luxembourg businessman Gérard Lopez, on 23/07/2021), FC Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) is taking stock of the rescue of the club by presenting its trajectory for a return to stability," announced the French club on 14/01/2022.

"The new management has committed to a rescue project through a long-term programme of restructuring and value creation for FC Girondins de Bordeaux. In just a few months, it has put in place a new economic strategy to put the club's finances back on track and build its future," added the Bordeaux club, which came close to an administrative relegation to the National 3 at the end of the 2020-21 season following the announcement of the withdrawal of King Street, the club's majority shareholder, on 22/04/2021, which led first to the club being placed under the protection of the Commercial Court, then to its demotion to Ligue 2 BKT by the DNCG on 02/07/2021, before eventually remaining in Ligue 1 Uber Eats and then being bought by Gérard Lopez.
