Serie A TIM TV rights: "inadequate" offers in the MENA region, broadcasting on YouTube continues

The bids for the Serie A TIM broadcasting rights in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) have again been deemed "inadequate" by the Lega Serie A, following a general assembly on 13/01/2022. The Italian League therefore announced that it will continue to broadcast only the league and the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia Frecciarossa) in the region, free of charge and with commentary in Arabic, via its YouTube channel.

"With regard to audiovisual rights in the MENA area, the CEO of Lega Serie A will be responsible for awarding an exploratory mandate, for a period of one month and on a non-exclusive basis, to various intermediaries," announced the Italian League previously on 19/10/2021. This mandate has therefore proved unsuccessful.

Lega Serie A had initially launched a call for tenders for the audiovisual rights to the Italian championship in the MENA region for the 2021-2024 cycle on 15/01/2021, in which beIN Media Group had not participated.
