DAZN: Shay Segev (co-CEO) becomes sole CEO, Darren Waterman (ex-Amazon) appointed CFO

As of 17/01/2022, Shay Segev will be the sole CEO of DAZN, announced the British group the same day. James Rushton, with whom he has shared the role since June 2021, "will continue with his existing responsibilities overseeing growth in local markets, rights and content," said the OTT platform.

Shay Segev joined DAZN in June 2021 from Entain plc (a sports betting and gaming company, formerly GVC Holdings), where he had been chief executive officer since July 2020. James Rushton, co-founder of DAZN, had previously held various roles within Perform Group between 2003 and 2016, the year the OTT platform was launched.

Darren Waterman also joins the UK group as chief financial officer. As CFO of Amazon and in charge of the development of the Prime Video platform between 2015 and 2021, Waterman "brings a track record of successful geographic expansion, video streaming, product innovation and investment in sports, TV and movie content."

Stuart Epstein, who has served as the group's CFO for nearly four years, "will continue in the role of senior advisor and member of the DAZN board."
