Valencia CF: agreement with FacePhi (biometric solutions) to promote the use of facial recognition

Valencia CF (LaLiga Santander) has signed a collaboration agreement with FacePhi, a Valencia-based start-up specialised in biometric technology and solutions, announced the club on 14/01/2022. As part of the partnership, the Spanish club becomes a brand ambassador and will promote the technology developed by FacePhi, which includes facial recognition software, to other sports organisations, notably during the 2022 World Cup.

FacePhi is part of the VCF Innovation Hub, a programme to support and develop local start-ups launched by Valencia CF in September 2020. FacePhi was selected by the club in the "fan engagement" category for its project to install a facial recognition-based access system at the new Mestalla (Valencia, ESP), a stadium where construction is due to resume in 2022 (see below), on 03/06/2021.
