2020-21 Coupe de France TV rights: a 10% reduction obtained by France Télévisions and Eurosport

"The dispute (over the value of the broadcasting rights for the 2020-21 Coupe de France) was settled (on 19/01/2022). I accepted a 10% reduction because of the number of matches that were not broadcast. I am quite happy, it is very acceptable. They have been correct. The file is now closed. Everyone has made an effort. I appreciated that they came back to reasonable measures," said Noël Le Graët, president of the French Football Federation (FFF), to the sports daily L'Équipe, on 19/01/2022.

The public broadcasting group France Télévisions and the pay-TV group Eurosport, which share the broadcasting rights in France for the Coupe de France over the 2018-2022 cycle for €22m per season, were asking for a 30% reduction for the rights for the 2020-21 season and had not paid the final instalment of the €4.5m contract in May 2021. They were therefore granted a €2.2m discount.
