Serie B: Austrian company G Diamonds ready to become majority shareholder of FC Bologna

A consortium led by G Diamonds, an Austrian company that specialises in the trade of diamonds and precious stones, could become the majority shareholder of FC Bologna 1909 (relegated in Serie B, the second Italian division, in 2014-15), announced the Italian media on 19/08/2014. The consortium has already deposited $15m (approximately €11.3m) to a subsidiary of the Unicredit bank in Bologna, in anticipation of the club's purchase.

"There are two fundamental conditions [to buy the club], that first all of the majority shareholders (Albano Guaraldi) accepts to sell, and then that we can verify the club's account. We need to study the accounts, the real assets, loans, debts, contracts... After these verifications, we will be able to proceed to the capital increase", said Stefano Bruni, the representative of the consortium and former mayor of Como (Lombardy), on 19/08/2014.

A meeting is scheduled between Albano Guaraldi, president and majority shareholder of the club since 2011, and the consortium to discuss the project on 25/08/2014.
