FIFA/European Commission: Qatar 2022 and the future of football among topics discussed on 21/01/2022

"The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, proposals related to the international match calendar, international transfer system reforms, and FIFA's ongoing work in creating the first ever independent international safe sports entity," were among the topics discussed during the visit of a "high-level delegation, led by the vice-president of the European Commission Margaritis Schinas (GRE)" to the headquarters of the International Federation in Zurich (SUI) on 21/01/2022.

Within the European Commission, a European Union body currently chaired by German Ursula von der Leyen and composed of 27 commissioners, Margaritis Schinas is responsible for "the Promotion of our European Way of Life."
