CIES/European Top 5: FC Barcelona trained the most players from the main leagues in 1^st half of 2021

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the European Top 5 club that trained the most players fielded during the second half of 2021 in the 15 main football leagues around the world, with 50 players trained, according to the CIES Football Observatory's "Weekly Post n°365", which examines the demographics of the squads of European Top 5 clubs, as well as those of 10 non-European leagues (see below), published on 24/01/2022.

In the European Top 5, FC Barcelona rank ahead of fellow Spanish club Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander, 46 players trained) and French club Stade Rennais FC (Ligue 1 Uber Eats, 31 players).

Behind the Breton club, five other Ligue 1 clubs feature in the Top 100 (Olympique Lyonnais, 30 players trained, Paris Saint-Germain, 28 players, AS Saint-Étienne and AS Monaco FC, 24 players each and RC Lens 18 players), as well as five Premier League clubs (Manchester City FC, 26, Arsenal FC, 25, Chelsea FC, 24, Manchester United FC, 23 and Tottenham Hotspur FC, 17), four other LaLiga Santander clubs (Valencia CF, 26, RCD Espanyol, 23, Athletic Club Bilbao and Real Sociedad, 22…
