DAZN: increase in subscription prices (from €14.99 to €29.99 per month) in Germany from 01/02/2022

The price of a monthly subscription to DAZN will rise in Germany and Austria from €14.99 to €29.99 (or €24.99 via an annual subscription) from 01/02/2022, announced the OTT sports platform on 25/01/2022.

"All existing subscribers will keep their current price until 31/07/2022. The same applies to all fans who subscribe or reactivate their DAZN membership by 31/07/2022," explained DAZN, which also recently increased its monthly rate to €29.99 in Italy (see below).

The increase comes at a time where DAZN owns the German broadcasting rights to the Champions League (excluding the Tuesday fixture acquired by Amazon on 10/12/2019) for the 2021-2024 cycle and part of the Bundesliga rights for the 2021-2025 cycle (106 matches per season out of 306, including Friday and Sunday fixtures). The pay-TV channel Sportdigital has also been broadcast via DAZN in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since November 2021.
