Rugby: Breitling succeeds Tissot as "official timing partner" of the Six Nations

Breitling, a Swiss watchmaker majority-owned by the Luxembourg fund CVC Capital Partners since 2017, has become a partner of Six Nations Rugby Ltd and the "official timing partner" of its competitions, announced the Dublin-based body on 26/01/2022. The agreement, which begins in 2022, includes the men's and women's 6 Nations Tournaments and the Autumn Nations Series.

"To welcome Breitling into the women's championship is a significant moment for this area of rugby. Everyone involved in the partnership is committed to the continued development of the women's game," said the organisation, which CVC has acquired a stake in, with plans to invest €426m over five years (2021-2025), on 11/03/2021.

Breitling succeeds another Swiss watchmaker Tissot, the official timekeeper of the Guinness 6 Nations Tournament between 2013 and 2021. The 2022 edition of the European competition (played from 05/02 to 19/03/2022) therefore has two partners: Guinness (beer) as title sponsor (2019-2024) and Breitling.
