adidas/Decathlon: recycled shoes to be transformed into a playing field for women's sports

adidas France and Decathlon are organising a collection of used sports footwear in the French group's 330 stores from 24/01 to 25/02/2022, according to the two companies on 20/01/2022. The aim of this initiative, entitled "Collectives", is to collect 25,000 shoes which will then be recycled in order to build a women's sports field.

"Only 15% of users of public sports facilities are women, and the majority of sports facilities in France are for team sports such as football and basketball. Based on this observation, 'Collectives' aims to offer a field open to all, equipped with facilities for mainly women's activities (dance, fitness, etc.), which are usually reserved for fee-based venues. This project thus encourages the practice of women's sports in public spaces," said the two sports equipment specialists.
