Italy: "The FIGC has financial autonomy independent of its sporting results" (Gabriele Gravina)

A gross operating margin of €10.9m, a net margin of €9.4m, a pre-tax profit of €1.1m and a net profit of €0.3m are the elements of the 2022 provisional budget approved unanimously by the FIGC Federal Council on 26/01/2022.

"These figures prove that the Federation has its own organisational, managerial and financial autonomy, independent of its sporting results, thanks in particular to the enhancement of our brand," declared Gabriele Gravina, president of the Italian body.

It must be said that the FIGC does not yet know, less than 10 months before the opening match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, whether Italy, winner of Euro 2020 in 2021, will be among the 32 participating teams: Italy must participate in the European playoffs (path C), first hosting North Macedonia in Palermo (Sicily, ITA) on Thursday 24/03/2022, and then, in the event of a victory, face the winner of Portugal - Turkey (in Portugal or Turkey) on Tuesday 29/03/2022 (kick-off at 20:45 CET).
