AFCON 2021: Olembé Stadium suspension lifted in order for it to host a semi-final and the final

The CAF Organising Committee has unanimously decided to lift the suspension imposed on the Olembé Stadium and to authorise one of the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021, as well as the final to take place at the stadium in Yaoundé (CAM), according to the African body on 30/01/2022.

A stampede left eight people dead (including a child and two women) and 38 injured in front of the southern entrance to the Olembé Stadium, just before the Round of 16 match between Cameroon and Comoros (2-1) on Monday 24/01/2022.

The AFCON Organising Committee decided on Wednesday 26/01/2022 to relocate three matches to the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaoundé, including a quarter-final scheduled to be played at the Olembé Stadium.

The four AFCON matches still to be played:
⚽️ Burkina Faso - Senegal, semi-final at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium (Yaoundé), on Wednesday 02/02/2022 (20:00 local time, same time CET).
⚽️ Cameroon - Egypt, semi-final at the Olembé Stadium (Yaoundé), Thursday 03/02/2022 (20:00).
