Golf/Asian Tour: Saudi Arabia invests €266m in a new circuit "The International Series"

LIV Golf Investments has unveiled the visual identity and logo for "The International Series", a series of 10 new golf events to be held annually on the Asian Tour, announced the new golf company of which the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia "is the majority shareholder" on 01/02/2022. This series of tournaments, which will begin in Thailand in March 2022 and will include a leg in London (ENG) from 09 to 12/06/2022, is based on "an increase in the lucrative and unprecedented investment into the Asian Tour from $200m to $300m (€266m)".

LIV Golf Investments originally announced the series of tournaments, which are added to the Asian Tour from 2022, for "a total commitment of over $200m (€172m)" on 31/10/2021. Greg Norman, a former world number one golfer, is the CEO.

This announcement follows the signing on 20/09/2021 of a 10-year partnership between the Asian Tour and Golf Saudi, organisers of the Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, which will see this tournament played in Saudi Arabia become the flagship tournament of the Asian Tour, even though…
