15 out of the 18 Bundesliga stadiums (83%) have a name sponsors for the 2014-15 season, which started on 22/08/2014 (Bayern Munich - VfL Wolfsburg, 2-1). Germany is the top European country in stadium-naming contracts.

SV Werder Bremen (Weser Stadion), Borussia Mönchengladbach (Borussia Park) and Hertha BSC (Olympiastadion) are the only three clubs that do not have stadium-naming contracts.

The average stadium-naming contract is estimated at €2.8m per season. The largest annual amount is paid by the insurance company Allianz to Bayern Munich: €6m per year through 2034-35. 87% of the partnerships are with German companies.

These types of sponsorship agreements are not always long-term. Hamburg's stadium is currently in its third stadium-naming contract: Imtech, a company that specialises in industrial logistics, has held the stadium's naming rights since 2010. It replaced HSH Nordbank (2007-2010), which had itself replaced the internet supplier AOL (2001-2007).
