The Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games was watched by 316 million unique viewers (audience reach) in China on Friday 04/02/2022, according to Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services.

This figure is almost equivalent to the global audience reach for the Opening Ceremony of the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games (320 million unique viewers).

"The Olympics website and app reached more than 3 million people yesterday (04/02/2022), 50% more than on the day of the PyeongChang 2018 Opening Ceremony," said Christian Klaue, director of communications and public affairs at the IOC.
