Ligue 2: LFP's administrative board issues Luzenac second refusal of promotion

The administrative board of the LFP (French Professional Football League) rejected the promotion of LAP (Luzenac Ariège Pyrénées) into Ligue 2 during a telephone meeting on 27/08/2014.

"It appears that Luzenac AP, despite numerous reminders (...), still do not have a stadium that meets regulations," said the LFP.

"Only representatives of the UNFP [National Union for Professional Footballers, France] and UNECATEF [France's managers' union] voted in favour of Luzenac," said Philippe Piat, the co-president of the UNFP and a member of the board of the Ligue, speaking to News Tank on 27/08/2014. "And that's not because we feel that Luzenac have a good case -- they don't -- but because there are players and managers who will be out of work because of their leaders. The documents that were provided to us are truncated, and refer to other documents that themselves are conditional ... In short, we have to recognise that their case is neither clear nor in order," said Piat.
