Metaverse: NFL, first major sports league to offer a "persistent experience" on the platform Roblox

The National Football League has partnered with Roblox, an online multiplayer video game platform (50 million users connected daily), to launch a metaverse experience called "NFL Tycoon" on 09/02/2022.

"The NFL will be the first official major sports league to offer a persistent experience on Roblox. NFL Tycoon will engage fans year-round in interactive NFL-themed gameplay while also providing a new virtual hangout destination with activations tied to League events, starting with Super Bowl LVI (Sunday 13/02/2022)," said the North American League. Roblox has previously collaborated with FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) and Nike to offer online gaming experiences.

"Throughout the year, NFL Tycoon will host virtual live events and activations that coincide with the NFL calendar, starting with 'Destruction House', an interactive event inspired by the highly anticipated NFL Super Bowl LVI commercial.
