Premier League: Tezos (blockchain), training kit sponsor of Manchester United FC

Tezos, a Luxembourg-based blockchain platform (metaverse, Web3), has become the training kit sponsor of Manchester United FC (Premier League) from 2021-22, announced the English club on 10/02/2022. The agreement covers the senior men's team as well as the senior women's team (Barclays FA Women's Super League).

The annual value of the partnership has been estimated at £20m (€23.9m) by US media outlet The Athletic on 03/02/2022. "In addition to the Tezos branding on the club’s training kit, the partnership will also include several new fan experiences built on the Tezos blockchain and a pledge to support Manchester United Foundation with ongoing donations in tez, the native currency of the Tezos blockchain, to train, educate and inspire young people within the local community," explained the club, which generated £140.2m (€163m, as of 30/06/2021) in sponsorship revenue in 2020-21.

The US insurance company Aon was Manchester United's previous training kit and training centre partner (2014-2021) for a total of £120m (€149m) over the seven-season partnership, or £17.1m (€21.3m) per year…
