TF1 Group: a turnover of €2.4bn (+16.6%) and net profit of €225.3m (+€170m) in 2021

The French private free-to-air television group TF1 posted a turnover of €2.427bn in 2021, up 16.6% compared to 2020 and 3.8% versus 2019, according to the financial results published by the group on 11/02/2022.

"Sporting events remain popular with the Euro 2020 football tournament (postponed to 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic), which attracted up to 16.4 million viewers for the France-Switzerland match (Round of 16), and also the France-Belgium Nations League match (semi-final), watched by 6.8 million viewers," explained TF1.

Operating profit was €332.9m (+€217.8m vs 2020 and +€77.8m vs 2019) while net profit was €225.3m (+€170m vs 2020 and +€70.5m vs 2019).

  • TF1 Group's programme costs (the five free-to-air channels TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films, LCI + the web-based operations MyTF1 and LCI Digital + the thematic channels TV Breizh, Ushuaïa TV, and Histoire TV) amount to €981m in 2021, an increase of €112.8m compared to 2020 but a saving of €30.6m compared to 2019.
