Chelsea FC: Three (telecoms) launches 5G at Stamford Bridge, a first in the Premier League

Three UK, a telephone operator belonging to Hong Kong's CK Hutchison Holdings, has activated its partnership with Chelsea FC (Premier League) and is deploying a 5G network at Stamford Bridge (London, ENG), announced the English club on 11/02/2022.

"Stamford Bridge (40,853 capacity) becomes the first Premier League stadium in the UK to switch on 5G across its entirety, paving the way for the ultimate connected fan experience," said Chelsea FC, for which Three has been a major partner and main shirt sponsor since 2020-21 (£40m/€47.4m per season).

"The capacity of Three's 5G means that everyone will be able to access a seamless and connected experience on a home matchday. Three customers with a 5G device can enjoy speeds of up to 250Mbps, allowing for much faster upload and download speeds, browsing and even HD streaming," explained Chelsea FC, who were crowned FIFA Club World Cup winners (2-1 victory after extra time versus Brazil's SE Palmeiras, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, 12/02/2022).
