Spain: RCD Espanyol plans to boost its sponsorship revenue from NFTs by 15% in 2021-22

Fayre, an NFT marketplace, has become an official partner of RCD Espanyol (LaLiga Santander) as part of a multi-year partnership in order to generate digital products dedicated to fans and offer in-stadium experiences using NFTs, according to the Barcelona club on 10/02/2022. The club aims to "increase its sponsorship revenue from NFTs by 15%" during the 2021-22 season.

"According to some studies, the digital assets model should develop in the coming years and become the second most lucrative source of revenue for the football industry," said the Spanish club. For example, the sports collectables market (digital collectable assets), estimated at $14bn (€12.3bn) in 2019, is expected to reach nearly $100bn (€88.4bn) by 2027, according to a study by the US firm Verified Market Research cited by Fayre on 10/02/2022.
