UEFA unveils eight 2014-15 Champions League groups

The draw for the group stage of the 2014-15 Champions League was held in Monaco on 28/08/2014. In addition to the 10 play-off winners, 22 teams were automatically qualified in the competition.

Paris Saint-Germain, the 2013-14 Ligue 1 champion, are in group F, alongside FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA, ESP), Ajax Amsterdam (Eredivisie, NED) and Apoel Nicosia (Cyprus). AS Monaco, the 2014-15 Ligue 1 runner-up, will face Benfica (Primeira Liga, POR), Zenit St Petersburg (Premier League, RUS) and Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Bundesliga) in group C.

The group phase will take place from 16/09 through 10/12/2014. The two teams with the most points will qualify for the round of 16, which will be played between 17/02 and 18/03/2015. The final of the 2014-15 Champions League will be played in the Olympiastadion in Berlin (GER, capacity 74,649) on 06/06/2015.

The 32 teams qualified for the group phase will receive a participation bonus of €8.6m from UEFA (Union of European Football Associations). The clubs will also receive €1m for each victory and €500,000 for each draw. The winner of the competition will…
