2021-22 Europa League: head-to-head FC Barcelona - SSC Napoli, Thursday 17/02/2022

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) posted a turnover (excluding transfers) of €587m for the 2020-21 financial year, 3.4 times that of SSC Napoli (Serie A TIM) with €174.4m, as the two clubs prepare to face each other in the play-offs for the Round of 16 of the 2021-22 Europa League, at the Camp Nou (Barcelona, ESP), on Thursday 17/02/2022 (kick-off at 18:45 CET).

FC Barcelona, did however, end the 2020-21 financial year with a net loss of €481m, 8.1 times greater than that of their Neapolitan rivals, who posted a loss of €58.9m.

With a brand value of €1.266bn, Barça were second in the "Football 50 2021" ranking published by the American company Brand Finance, which specialises in the economic valuation of brands. Napoli were ranked 32^nd. The Catalan club also ranked first in the Top 20 "World's Most Valuable Soccer Teams" (excluding real estate) as established by the American business magazine Forbes in April 2021, while the Italian club was absent from this ranking.
