NBA: Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks), the first brand ambassador for WhatsApp (Meta)

WhatsApp, an instant messaging platform owned by the Meta Group (formerly Facebook), has become a partner of Greek basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to the American group and the Milwaukee Bucks (NBA) player on 21/02/2022. The reigning 2020-21 NBA Champion becomes WhatsApp's first brand ambassador.

The partnership was made official at the 2022 NBA All-Star Game in Cleveland (Ohio, USA) on 20/02/2022. For his arrival at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Giannis Antetokounmpo wore a green hoodie made by the Nigerian brand Post-Imperial and flocked with the Whatsapp logo and the mention "+234", the phone code for Nigeria, the country of origin of the two-time NBA MVP's family (2019 and 2020), who became Greek by naturalisation in 2013.
