Beijing 2022/Discovery: streaming subscriptions up 50% in Europe compared to PyeongChang 2018

During the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, Discovery recorded a 50% increase in "new paid streaming subscribers" across Europe compared to PyeongChang 2018, announced to the US group's French subsidiary on 23/02/2022.

"In France, 6.7 million TV viewers and 5.7 million internet users followed the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on Eurosport," said Discovery, according to data from the audience measurement companies Médiamétrie and Adobe Analytics.

"Over 1 billion streaming minutes were consumed across discovery+ and Eurosport subscription services. Discovery reported record Olympic Winter Games viewership and engagement on its digital platforms. More than 156 million Europeans visited Discovery's platforms, 19 times more than the last Olympic Winter Games," said Discovery.
