esports: RC Strasbourg Alsace joins forces with GK Esport to participate in the LFP's eLigue 1

RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 Uber Eats) has launched a joint team with GK Esport (created in 2021) in order to participate in the 2022 edition of the LFP's eLigue 1, announced the club on 23/02/2022.

The sixth edition of the eLigue 1 will be played on the FIFA 22 (published by EA Sports) exclusively on the PS5 - video game console from PlayStation, official partner of the competition - from 01/03 to 04/06/2022. "For this new season, the eLigue 1 is structured and becomes a 100% professional championship. The competition will bring together the 10 Ligue 1 Uber Eats clubs most involved in esports, with their own esports structure and professional players under contract," said the LFP on 17/02/2022, which is allocating €50,000 to participating clubs in order to support them in esports.

RC Strasbourg Alsace is thus launching its second esports section. In 2021, the Strasbourg club launched a joint team with Team Vitality to participate in the 2021 eLigue 1.
