esports/cycling: second edition of the UCI Worlds held on the platform Zwift, 26/02/2022

The second edition of the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships, organised on Zwift, a global online virtual training and competition platform for athletes, will take place on 26/02/2022. After "Watopia" (a fictional race) in 2020, the 2022 World Championships will take place in "Knickerbocker", a virtual replica of New York City, with a course built around Central Park.

The competition will be broadcast on the channels of the pay-TV group Eurosport, via the OTT platform GCN+ and the Zwift YouTube channel. The Elite Women's race will start at 19:15 CET and the Elite Men's race at 20:45 CET.

"Along with road cycling, track, mountain biking, BMX freestyle, BMX racing, indoor cycling, trials and cyclo-cross, esports cycling is now one of the nine sports governed by the UCI. The winner of the men's and women's events will be awarded the UCI Cycling Esports World Champions Jersey incorporating the famous rainbow stripes.
