War in Ukraine/Qatar 2022: Poland, Sweden and Czech Republic refuse to play against Russia

The Football Associations of Poland (PZPN), Sweden (SvFF) and the Czech Republic (FACR) are refusing to play Russia in the European play-offs for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, according to the three bodies on 26 and 27/02/2022.

Russia is one of the 12 European countries in the play-offs for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Three of them will qualify. The draw on 26/11/2021 arranged for Russia to host Poland (in Moscow) on Thursday 24/03/2022, and for the winner of that match to receive the winner of Sweden - Czech Republic on Tuesday 29/03/2022. At stake: qualification for the final phase of the XXII World Cup scheduled from 21/11 to 18/12/2022.

⚽️ "No international competition shall be played on the territory of Russia, with 'home' matches being played on neutral territory and without spectators
⚽️ The member association representing Russia shall participate in any competition under the name 'Football Union of Russia (RFU)' and not 'Russia'
⚽️ No flag or anthem of Russia will be used in matches where teams from the Football Union of Russia participate."
