War in Ukraine: "No matches in Russia, no flag or anthem for Russian teams" (FIFA)

• "No international competition shall be played on the territory of Russia, with 'home' matches being played on neutral territory and without spectators.
• The member association representing Russia shall participate in any competition under the name 'Football Union of Russia (RFU)' and not 'Russia'
• No flag or anthem of Russia will be used in matches where teams from the Football Union of Russia participate."
These are the three measures taken by the Bureau of the FIFA Council, composed of the FIFA president and the presidents of each of the six confederations, on 27/02/2022, in response to the war started by Russia in Ukraine on 24/02/2022.

"FIFA condemns the use of force by Russia in Ukraine and any type of violence to resolve conflicts. Violence is never a solution and FIFA calls on all parties to restore peace through constructive dialogue. FIFA also continues to express its solidarity to the people affected by this conflict," declared the world body, following a meeting of its Council held by videoconference on Thursday 24/02/2022.
