Italy: Lega Serie A YouTube channel reaches eight million subscribers

Lega Serie A's official YouTube account now has more than eight million subscribers, making it the most followed football league in the world on the platform ahead of LaLiga Santander (7.6 million subscribers) and the Bundesliga (3.1 million), and the third most popular sports league behind the NBA (17.9 million subscribers) and the NFL (9.1 million), announced the Italian professional league on 28/02/2022.

The Lega Serie A's YouTube channel had passed the seven million subscriber mark on 24/08/2021, and has thus gained one million additional fans in six months. This growth is due in particular to the broadcasting of Serie A TIM matches on the platform for the MENA zone since the start of the 2021-22 season (five games per matchday until 05/02/2022, all matches since that date, see below). "The increase of over one million users in the last 6 months is amazing, we are very satisfied for the work we are doing," said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of the Lega Serie A, on 28/02/2022.
