War in Ukraine: "Sergii Bubka will lead the distribution of the solidarity fund" (Thomas Bach, IOC)

"Sergii Bubka, president of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine and IOC member, will lead on the allocation and distribution of the solidarity fund towards the Ukrainian Olympic community and sports movement, with the support of Olympic Solidarity (a programme which aims to provide assistance to all National Olympic Committees within the framework of development programmes) in Lausanne (IOC headquarters, Switzerland) and his team at the NOC in Ukraine," announced Thomas Bach (GER), president of the International Olympic Committee, on 03/03/2022.

Thomas Bach made the announcement in a letter to the Olympic Movement laid out "information on the next steps to provide humanitarian assistance for the Olympic Community in Ukraine" following Russia's invasion of the country on 24/02/2022.
