Sub-Saharan Africa: Agency TV Media Sport acquires broadcasting rights of Serie A

The TV media rights agency TV Media Sport acquired the TV rights for the distribution of the 2014-15 Serie A season in 47 Sub-Saharan African countries on 28/08/2014. These rights were acquired through a sub-licence agreement with the media rights agency MP & Silva.

"TV Media Sport will distribute the Serie A to all its African partners, including one game per week and weekly highlights," announced the company on 28/08/2014. "This acquisition will reinforce TVMS expertise amongst its African partners and its credibility towards international sports authorities."

TVMS also broadcasts the 2014-15 Bundesliga season in 22 Sub-Saharan African countries. The company also distributed the Euro 2012 tournament in 41 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

  • The South-African pay-TV group SuperSport holds the broadcasting rights of the Bundesliga in the 2012-2015 period in 43 African countries.
    • It co-broadcasts, in six additional countries, the German first division with the pay-TV group Dubai Sports Channel: Djibouti, Eritrea, Mauritania, Somalia, Sudan et South Sudan.
