War in Ukraine: Puma (equipment manufacturer) suspends operations at its stores in Russia

The German equipment manufacturer Puma has decided to "suspend operations at all its stores in Russia," announced the group on 05/03/2022. The reason for the decision is Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which began on Thursday 24/02/2022, and following which the brand initially suspended its deliveries to Russia, as well as its contract with the Russian Basketball Federation, on 03/03/2022.

Puma's turnover in Russia represents less than 4% of its overall revenue in 2020-21, which amounts to €6.8bn. The German group, which has more than 100 points of sale in the country, will however continue to pay the full salaries of its employees in the territory. At the same time, the brand has set up various initiatives to support the Ukrainian population and its 380 employees in the country (see below).
