Italy: Puma to supply match balls for Lega Serie A competitions from 2022-23

The German equipment manufacturer Puma will become the official technical partner of the Lega Serie A from 01/07/2022 and will supply match balls for its competitions, announced the Italian professional league on 07/03/2022.

Puma succeeds the American brand Nike, which had been supplying balls for the Serie A TIM since the 2011-12 season and renewed its contract in 2019-20. This new "long-term partnership" also extends to the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa, the Supercoppa Italiana Frecciarossa, the Primavera 1 (U19) competitions and the eSerie A TIM, the Lega Serie A's official esports competition.

This is the second deal with a European Top 5 league for Puma, which had previously succeeded Nike as a partner of LaLiga and the official ball supplier of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank from the 2019-20 season, in a deal estimated at between €5m and €6m per year by Spanish media on 15/04/2019. In Italy, the German group is also the official equipment supplier of AC Milan over the 2018-2023 cycle and of US Sassuolo Calcio since 2020-21.
