MLS: Nashville SC, first club to be paid in Bitcoin by its crypto partner (Valkyrie Investments)

Valkyrie Investments, a finance company based in Nashville (Tennessee, USA), has become a "founding partner" (first level) of Nashville SC, announced the MLS franchise on 08/03/2022.

"The groundbreaking partnership makes Nashville SC the first Major League Soccer club to accept its full partnership fee in Bitcoin (cryptocurrency)," said Nashville SC, which has been playing in MLS since 2020. One bitcoin (BTC), a digital currency launched on 03/01/2009, is equivalent to more than €38,000 as of 09/03/2022. 

Crypto-asset/blockchain operators are increasingly visible in the American football league. DC United has reached an agreement with XDC Network, which is displaying its logo as a main shirt sponsor over the 2022-2024 cycle. XBTO, a crypto-asset company and partner of Valkyrie Investments, has become the main shirt sponsor of Inter Miami CF from 2022.
