Bundesliga: Mizuno (JPN) to succeed Nike as VfL Bochum's equipment supplier from 2022-23

Mizuno will become the new official equipment supplier for all VfL Bochum (Bundesliga) teams from the 2022-23 season, announced the German club on 09/03/2022. Mizuno will succeed Nike and its distributor 11Teamsports, kit suppliers of VfL Bochum since 2011-12 (€700,000 per season).

Mizuno, a company based in Osaka (JPN), is continuing to strengthen its operations in football following the arrival of Spanish defender Sergio Ramos (Paris Saint-Germain, Ligue 1 Uber Eats) as a brand ambassador on 09/02/2022. The group subsequently announced a partnership with SS Lazio (Serie A TIM) as the Italian club's equipment supplier from 2022-23. Mizuno will does not currently equip any club in the European Top 5 in 2021-22.

"Mizuno is in the process of investing in the team sports vertical. We launched this category only two years ago. We are entering markets that were previously completely out of our reach. In European football, there will soon be clubs equipped by Mizuno," said Nicolas Hope, CEO of Mizuno France, to News Tank Football on 03/05/2021.
