Norway: Lise Klaveness, 40, first female president of the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF)

Lise Klaveness, a former international footballer born on 19/04/1981, was elected by acclamation as president of the Norwegian Football Federation (NFF/Norges fotballforbunds) on 06/03/2022.

Aged 40, she is the first woman to lead the body, which is celebrating its 120^th anniversary in 2022. Klaveness succeeds Terje Svendsen, president since 2016.

"I thank you very much for your trust. I accept the responsibility, and enter the role with curiosity and great humility. I have a lot to learn, and I have great respect for my predecessors," said Lise Klaveness during the elective assembly.

Lise Klaveness earned 73 caps for the Norwegian national team as a midfielder and striker between 2002 and 2011. She was part of the team that reached the final of the 2005 UEFA Women's Euro (1-3 defeat versus Germany in Blackburn, England, on 19/06/2005). In 2007, she played for Swedish club Umea IK, finalists in the UEFA Women's Cup, the predecessor of the Women's Champions League.
